Located in Vancouver’s Kerrisdale neighbourhood, our clients sought a brighter, more functional, and better-connected home. We transformed the main floor and three-storey staircase to enhance flow, light, and spatial efficiency. The redesigned layout flips the living and dining areas for improved circulation, opens the kitchen to the rest of the space through the removal of a structural wall, and introduces a defined front foyer that brings both practicality and a sense of arrival.

Guided by Bauhaus principles, the design unites form and function through refined details such as integrated pulls, half-rounded dowel slats, and a cohesive, harmonized palette. The staircase, featuring burgundy-painted wood and a custom runner handmade in India, serves as the home’s central design statement—its pattern and palette conceived by our studio and forming the foundation for a capsule rug collection. Rounded and rectilinear elements throughout—seen in the stair rail and entry slats—create a sophisticated interplay of forms, resulting in a space that feels intentional, cohesive, and timeless.
