Located along Vancouver’s Arbutus Corridor, this full condo renovation was driven by our client’s desire to transform his home into a space that better supported his lifestyle. With a focus on housing and displaying a growing book collection, and an office that doubles as a maker space, the design reimagines each area for both everyday living and hands-on creative pursuits. Additional kitchen storage was achieved through integrated side-wall millwork, while slatted detailing at the entryway skylight introduces pattern and allows light to shift throughout the day.

The project explores a rich palette of periwinkle and burgundy, balanced through texture rather than additional color. Fluted cabinetry, clay-based finishes, woven materials, and variegated tiles add depth and tactility, creating a layered environment that feels both current and enduring.

Craftsmanship and experimentation underpin the design, reflecting the client’s interest in making and tinkering. Exposed plywood edges, cutout millwork, and thoughtful detailing highlight a sense of process while maintaining a clean, modern framework. We also sourced and procured all furnishings and artwork, ensuring a cohesive and fully realized space.
